Why I’m Telling You This
I want to be upfront about something small, because I’d rather you hear it from me than notice it on your own and wonder.
The images on this site — the ones sitting alongside the writing — are AI-generated. Not the words. Never the words. Those are mine, worked over, argued with, and rewritten more times than I’d like to admit. But the pictures themselves come from a machine, not a camera or a commissioned illustrator.
The Honest Reason
The Agora Mind runs on evenings and whatever’s left of my attention after a full day of everything else life asks for. There’s no budget here for a photographer, a stock license library, or an illustrator on retainer — just me, trying to get an idea down clearly before I run out of night. Generating an image takes minutes. Sourcing or commissioning one properly takes time I don’t have if I also want to keep writing.
The Choice I Made
So I made a choice, and I want to own it rather than quietly hope no one notices. The image is the smallest part of what happens here. It’s a frame around the thing that actually matters, which is the thinking. If a picture helps a post land a little better, it’s done its job — I’m not asking it to be art, and I’m not passing it off as something it isn’t.
The Trade I’m Offering
What I am asking is this: if that’s a shortcut you can live with, I hope what’s written here is worth it in return. That’s the actual trade being offered — an honest, carefully-made argument in exchange for a picture that took five minutes instead of five hours. I think that’s a fair deal. I hope you do too.
If it isn’t, I understand, and I’d rather you tell me than just quietly stop reading.
